Equipment overview: gateway and nodes

Snape 2.0Version 1.1 · 6 November 2026KC-02-002
This guide is for Snape 2.0. Other versions: Snape 1.0.

This section will provide an overview of the different types of equipment offered by Ackcio to help you monitor everything in your project. For in-depth information on Ackcio Beam nodes, please refer to our technical specifications document.

All of Ackcio’s gateways and nodes have a waterproofing rating of IP67 and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40℃ to +80℃

Ackcio Gateway (BEAM-GW 3.6)

The Ackcio Gateway is the key point of data collection and transmission for your project. Ackcio’s Snape software comes installed on every gateway and allows you to configure your gateway to meet the unique requirements of each deployment. Your gateway is equipped for internet access over it’s integrated 3G/4G antenna for cellular data sim, ethernet connection to router, or through Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz. This allows your gateway to connect to the API or FTP server of your choice (see Data upload settings (API and FTP)).

Our gateways operate on a 12 VDC 3A power supply, GW should always operate at continuous power supply of 12V 3A DC. Lack of continuous power supply would make nodes to lose connection and reconnect back at a much later time if power supply is down for prolonged hours as nodes are coded in such a way to enter deep sleep mode of 6 hours cycle if they couldn’t find connection to GW. This feature is there to conserve nodes’ battery life. Nodes would try to look for GW network for every 6-hour cycle and have all sensor data synced back to GW upon connection. Missing sensor data during the down period will be synced back to GW at the rate of 30 mins per data point. Eg: If the GW was down for 6 hours and the sampling rate is at 1 hour, all 6 data points will be synced back to GW within 3 hours upon node connecting to network.

Ackcio Analogue Node (BEAM-AN-S1 & BEAM-AN- S4)

Our Ackcio Analogue nodes are the perfect tool for logging data from voltage, current-loop output sensors, as well as wheatstone bridge sensors and potentiometers.

The BEAM-AN-S1 supports 1 sensor (2 analogue channels and 1 thermistor channel), while the BEAM-AN-S4 supports 4 sensors (8 analogue channels and 4 thermistor channels) with power supply options of 5, 12, and 24V.

Ackcio Digital Node (BEAM-DG)

The Ackcio Digital node is used to collect data from digital sensors using RS232, RS485, or SDI-12 communication protocols. The list of sensor manufacturers that we support at the moment includes Campbell Scientific, Encardio, Geokon, Geosense, In-Situ, Measurand, Meter, RST, Sisgeo, YieldPoint, ZC, and more. Our team is constantly integrating more sensors into our compatibility list, so if your deployment requires a different sensor type or communication protocol, please contact your Ackcio contact person and we will be happy to assist.

Ackcio Vibrating Wire Node (BEAM-VW-S1 & BEAM- VW-S8)

Ackcio’s vibrating wire nodes reliably collect sensor data from your vibrating wire sensors with a measurement range of 400 - 6000Hz at a resolution of +/- 0.01Hz. The BEAM-VW-S1 supports 1 sensor (1 vibrating wire channel, 1 pulse counter, and 1 thermistor), while the BEAM-AN-S8 supports 8 sensors (8 vibrating wire channels and 8 thermistor).

Ackcio Tiltmeter Nodes (BEAM-TM)

The BEAM-TM is Ackcio’s all-in-one wireless tiltmeter. This node is equipped with a biaxial self-compensated MEMS inclinometer operating on a +/- 15 degree range at a resolution of 0.0001 degree.

Ackcio Repeater Nodes (BEAM-RN)

Ackcio’s repeater nodes can be used to expand the coverage area of your network by providing an additional connection point for nodes deployed in the hard-to-reach areas of your project.

Ackcio TM-L Nodes (BEAM-TM-L), Lora Network

TM-L adds real-time alerts, vibration detection, and longer battery life for autonomous monitoring. This TM-L is setup as LORA network using special GW 3.6.1 with additional LORA antenna and they can run at 1min sampling time over LOS distance, 2 Km on urban and 5 Km on rural

  • Dynamic Monitoring: Instead of only sending data on a schedule (e.g. every hour), TM-L can also wake up and report instantly when unusual movement occurs.
  • Alarms & Thresholds: You can set warning limits. If tilt or vibration exceeds those limits, the device immediately sends an alert. Alarm is only on X and Y tilt and all accelerations.
  • Acceleration Measurement: TM-L doesn’t just track slow tilting; it also detects sudden jolts or vibrations, giving visibility into both gradual changes and fast events.
